Prototype SaaS

Business Management

Due to non-disclosure agreements, I am showing only exceprts of my work. I have omitted client details. All information in this case study is my own and reflects my own concepts of the client's product.

PROJECT GOAL

The goal of the project was concepting and creating a web-based SaaS platform for business operations management. The platform is developed for the creative management niche (photogrpahers, architects, studios), focused on integrity, interoperability, flexibility and the advantages of AI for project phase screening and automation management.

THE CHALLENGE

The challenge was to streamline interdisciplinary operations at the different project phases and integrate essential resources, allowing intuitive and flexible usage during the creative workflow. Researching use cases and bringing structure into a chaotic mix of client communications, legal & tax, as well as markeitng to allow more time for the actual creative work was the key for various design decisions during product development.

The main focus was:
1. Structuring the navigation and information architecture around the jobs to be done by our users
2. Allowing an intuitive flow that almost naturally and flexibly accompanies the user
3. Offering resources - smart fields, integrations, templates, automating a large part of operations

THE DESIGN PROCESS

After a thorough competitive benchmarking phase and analysis, I was able to audit similar products and the related user experiences. According to these findings, I identified key user insights, pain points and expectations for this specific product niche. Defining the main touch points in the workflow, the stakeholders involved, as well as the necessary resources at each project step was essential for the initial and secondary drafting of the most common use cases, user flow diagrams, site mapping and wireframing.

THE SOLUTION

The solution was an easy to use platform for intuitive, effective and flexible project management. The users were provided with essential resources and options to automate processes like legal agreements and confirmations, invoicing, client communications, marketing, and in the same time being able to carefree check-off project documentation on the go. In the short term, all of these features will allow for more time to be devoted to the creative aspect of users' work and raise their business competency level in interdisciplinary skills they actually lack. While in the long run, the solution will allow them to offer a better service, raise client loyalty and convert more leads into clients.
